I am Frances Hamilton AIA LEED-AP BD+C SEED ||a Georgia registered architect, a member of the American Institute of Architects, certified in LEED AP Building Design and Construction ( Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional ) and certified to understand Social Economic and Environmental Design.
Architects shape the physical forms of buildings to integrate with environmental, economic and cultural dimensions, to lift peoples spirits and create more physical and human energy. The built environment is both an organic and evidence based process creating sustainable, urban, commercial and community design, building inclusive neighborhoods through mixed-use strategies and utilizing the visual and spacial communication inherent in the arts and architecture. Explore this website and hastudio.us and contact me if you have any questions.
A focus on environmentally attuned and sustainable buildings is one of my purposes as an architect. As a civilization we have accumulated all the information we need to make energy go further, for power and water bills to be near zero and excess power from solar panels to be sold back to the power company. This is already true in some places and coming in the future to Georgia. Georgia Power as an established super grid, doesn’t like this situation and is dragging their feet – but places like India and China without invested infrastructure are moving ahead quickly !
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is utilized by HAStudio for huge time efficiency…Changes and new ideas are welcome during a home design–the home is created in 3d and then all the floor plans, elevations, sections and schedule sheets are pulled live from the 3d model. If a change is made anywhere in the model it is reflected on all the construction documentation sheets, this makes changes at any time welcome! The suns path can be placed and energy calculations can be pulled from the 3d model as well. It’s a very cool thing for everyone involved in the design!
